Dopa Mucuna is a standardized extract of Mucuna pruriens, better known as Velvet seed, an herb that has been widely used in Ayurvedic medicine in India for millennia.
Dopa Mucuna is the richest source in nature of L-DOPA (nearly 15% content), the fastest precursor of dopamine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that has been linked to improving mood and the desire for life. Dopa Mucuna provides this neurotransmitter in sufficient quantities to meet the body's needs.
L-DOPA is known for its use in people with mood problems and depression, as well as in athletes undergoing heavy physical exertion. L-DOPA serves to increase libido, but its most valuable quality is the stimulation of the secretion of growth hormone, which enhances the body's recovery processes.
