Jarrow Formulas® Shilajit Fulvic Acid Complex is a purified and standardized water-based extract containing no less than 60% complex fulvic acid with high levels of combined dibenzo-alpha-pyrones and dibenzo-alpha-pyrone chromoproteins. These special compounds are active in the mitochondrial electron transport chain. Shilajit Fulvic Acid Complex works with Co-Q10 in the mitochondria and stimulates energy production in the brain and muscles, including during exercise.
As a raw material for the production of supplements , Shilajit (Mumio) must undergo strict quality control and processing before it is suitable for human consumption by modern standards. First, the starting material must be analyzed to ensure low levels of harmful heavy metals (such as mercury, lead, and cadmium). The raw material must then be processed to neutralize naturally occurring reactive oxygen species, as well as to remove fungal contaminants.
