Astaxanthin 12 mg - 30 Gel capsules

Astaxanthin is a natural antioxidant with more than 100 times and 10 times the capacity to neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS) than vitamin E and beta-carotene , respectively. Like most carotenoids, astaxanthin cannot be converted to vitamin A. Its potent antioxidant effect and inflammatory-modulating properties are believed to underlie its clinically observed effects on skin, eye, and joint health.

Natural astaxanthin has a different composition than the synthetically produced astaxanthin that is most commonly sold. Naturally derived astaxanthin is usually in the form of esters and protein conjugates, while synthetic astaxanthin is not. These differences may alter the effects of astaxanthin in humans.

Jarrow Formulas® Astaxanthin is derived from the fermentation of Haematococcus Pluvialis microalgae grown sustainably in lakes located in Kona, Hawaii.

The best results from clinical trials have been shown with a daily intake of Astaxanthin between 4 and 12 mg.

Other ingredients: NON-GMO safflower oil, NON-GMO natural tocopherols, cold-pressed olive oil and rosemary extract. The softgel capsule consists of gelatin, glycerin and water.
